Gerd Alfred Müller 1962 Blender
Have you ever made a smoothie that was so thick you had trouble getting it out of the blender pitcher? This is why the jars are ideally conical, and this excellent German designer knew it. Not only is this an advantage for the user, but also, for production, because generous draft angles allows to easily retrieve the pieces from the mold. With a general structure consisting of two conical shapes, this product’s classic curves excellently visualize the stability of the base and give this household appliance an unprecedented elegance. The color scheme features an off-white and a ‘signal color’ in an unobtrusive pale green. This was typical for the manufacturer and underlines the graceful appearance. The choice of materials and design details are perfect. The handle is comfortable, the lid has a little cap to add ingredients during mixing and the hard thermoset plastic of the body, the cast glass jug and the aluminum jug base did not only promise a long life cycle, but also account for the shelf life this model enjoyed, spanning several decades.
